Time to Change was a social movement to change the way people think and act about mental health problems. The national campaign, led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, started in 2007 and closed at the end of March 2021, it was a fantastic success Click here to find out what the campaign achieved but there is still more to be done to change attitudes and behaviour.
Many people with mental health problems still report that the impact of stigma and discrimination is as bad or worse than the symptoms themselves.
Stigma and discrimination prevent people from seeking help. It isolates people, excluding them from day-to-day activities and making it hard to build new relationships or sustain current ones. It can stop people getting or keeping jobs.
Experiencing a mental health problem is hard enough, without having to deal with the shame and isolation that often comes with it.
Time To Change Worcestershire is a dynamic partnership of local organisations and people who remain committed to ending mental health stigma and discrimination in our county. The partnership includes:
Worcestershire Health and Wellbeing Board, Worcestershire County Council, Community First, Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the University of Worcester, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, and local Champions. Click here to find out more about our local champions
We are also thrilled to be a partner of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Wellbeing and Recovery College.
