Dementia Friendly Village Halls Guide and Checklist

We are delighted to share our Guide and Checklist for Village Halls which focus on the needs of people living with dementia but will also be of relevance to village hall users with other disabilities.

We are sharing the documents below freely and do not ask for anything in exchange, however, we would love to hear from you about how you have used them and the change they have made.

It is hoped that the approach and the resources developed during the pilot will be used to kick-start action across Worcestershire and Herefordshire and nationally through Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) to support the inclusion of people living with dementia and their families to fully share in the benefits that village halls can offer to their local communities. Although the pilot project was focused on village halls it is anticipated that the guide and checklist will be of use in other community buildings or facilities.

One Step Out! is Community First's Lottery funded project working with our Village Hall Network to tackle loneliness and isolation in our rural communities.
