Research specially commissioned for Dame Carol Black's review of the health of Britain's workforce, found considerable evidence that health and well-being programmes produced economic benefits across all sectors and all sizes of business: in other words, that good health is good business.

This programme:
• will provide clear and useable knowledge of the nature of health and well-being and
can be based around a ‘live’ project for your organisation.
• gives those with management responsibility the knowledge and tools to take long
term responsibility for this costly area of employee management.
• is packed with exercises, tools and tips on the effective management of health and
  well-being.

The business benefits from the date of enrolment as live issues are tackled, strategies developed, appropriate policies, procedures and behaviours discussed.

Participants are supported in their role with information and resources, such as enabling work-life balance for their team, effective people management skills and performance management support as well as information and support on creating work-life balance and managing stress.

This course is part funded by the Health Work and Wellbeing Challenge fund - senior mangers of SMEs could access support for the remaining costs through the Director Development fund.

Worcestershire NHS is pleased to have commissioned Wellness Works to provide the following Mood Master training which will build and support emotional health and well-being.

What is MoodMaster?
MoodMaster is a new programme which aims to provide a fun, upbeat approach to working on your physical and emotional wellbeing. Come for yourself, or come for someone else, either way you will learn a number of simple, straightforward techniques that will help you to deal better with situations that cause you worry and stress or bring your mood down.

In its simplest form MoodMaster aims to be for your emotional health, what Weight Watchers is for your weight!

A series of new sessions for people based in Worcestershire will start in September. Courses will be held on:

Wednesday afternoons: The 28 week programme (which can be accessed in blocks of 28 weeks): from the 6th October 2010 until 20th April 2011 (excluding 29th December) at 4pm until 5pm at The Trunk in Bromsgrove.

Tuesday mornings: The 12 week programme (which can be accessed in blocks of 12 weeks): from the 5th October until 21st December 2010 at 11.30am until 12.30pm at Evesham Community Contact Centre in Evesham.

Thursday evenings: The 12 week programme (which can be accessed in blocks of 12 weeks): from 30th September until 16th December 2010 from 5pm until 6pm at Kidderminster Youth House in Kidderminster.

Sessions will be held with small supportive groups and spaces are limited to 12 so booking is essential. Your group leader will introduce different topics each week which may include:

• Problem solving
• Perfecting your life commentary
• Getting a good night’s sleep

Each week we will focus on a new subject. We will have 7 days to work on it and put into practice what you have learnt. Over the week we reflect on our progress, what we have learned and what we could do differently. We then discuss this when we meet up the following week.
