Trustee Recruitment

Community First wishes to recruit new members to join its governing body, the board of trustees.

Can you help direct Community First towards achieving its mission in a time of great change and challenge for the third sector locally?

Interested individuals will need to be able to make a commitment to Community First and devote the necessary time; have strategic vision; independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak their mind.  Ideally the new trustees will also have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Networking and relationship building at a strategic level
  • Governance arrangements in the voluntary, community or third sector
  • Business development and enterprise
  • Community engagement and development, training or organisational development
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Human resources, legal and finance

We are particularly keen to achieve a board that is reflective of the diversity of all
sections of the community and applications from women, people of minority ethnicity and people with disabilities would be welcomed as they are currently under represented on the Board. Appointment will be based on merit alone.

We will pay trustees’ expenses and provide an induction into Community First’s work and any ongoing knowledge and skills development needed. Trustees are expected to
contribute roughly three half days each quarter amounting to approximately 6 days
per annum in total.
