Sustainable Community Development

Supporting the development of sustainable communities through specialist support and advice for community environmental projects.

What does this involve?

We provide specialist community development support around the issues of environmental sustainability. This support can vary depending on the needs of the community and it might include:

  • Supporting the development of environmental projects such as setting up community allotments, gardening projects, increasing wildlife and habitat areas in a a community
  • Providing specialist support to enable communities to investigate community renewable energy projects
  • Awareness raising on sustainability issues
  • Understanding the challenges around the climate change/carbon reduction issues
  • Producing Sustainability Action Plans which reflect the whole community ambition for finding ways to be more sustainable

This project can currently support communities in and around the areas of Kington, Bromyard, the Golden Valley and Ledbury as part of the REACH project.
