Personal Health Budgets (PHBs): Free learning and development days

The NHS is planning to increase the use of Personal Health Budgets (PHBs). Local infrastructure organisations need to be aware of what this could mean and the potential role they could play to make PHBs work for local people.

To put you in the best possible position to make sense of PHBs and what it could mean, NAVCA, National Voices and Volunteering Matters (the Voluntary Voices partnership) are setting up learning and support networks. They are for anyone in the voluntary sector involved in helping people and local voluntary organisations make PHBs work, in particular local infrastructure, charities delivering healthcare and user-led organisations. They will also have input from NHS England and local CCGs, so present an opportunity to share ideas with them.

To initiate the networks NAVCA has organised free learning and development days in venues across the country. More information about these events and how to book can be found here.

If you have had no involvement so far with PHBs at all so far NAVCA has produced a short two page briefing to explain PHBs, the government's plan to extend them and why it matters to local infrastructure.
