NewStarts: Project Manager

The Project Manager will have a passion for the type of work NewStarts is engaged in. S/he will be able to develop the Christian purpose of NewStarts in consultation with board members, staff and volunteers. S/he will have proven knowledge, understanding and experience of business management and project development and will be required to oversee the marketing, promotion, delivery, cost effectiveness and quality of our work.

The Project Manager must be able to demonstrate self-motivation, initiative and compassion. S/he will be an effective team builder and developer of people, creative and imaginative in style, and be able to practically help and guide those who are in need.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian. Section 7(3) of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 applies.

NewStarts is a Christian charity which works to:
  •  Relieve poverty by providing household goods and food to vulnerable families and individuals;
  • Reduce the risk of homelessness by assisting people with resettlement;
  • Protect and preserve the environment by ensuring the re-use of unwanted household goods;
  • Provide volunteering and work placement opportunities for people, particularly those who are long-term unemployed and ex-offenders.

The salary will be £26,916 for a 37.5 hour week. There is a company contributing pension scheme and a holiday entitlement of 25 days plus 8 days public and bank holidays.
