Background
The Mental Health Development Project based at Community First covers Worcestershire only and co-ordinates the Mental Health Link Network.
The Mental Health Development Project came about when a proposal for a voluntary sector worker focusing specifically on mental health was made in the Worcestershire Mental Health Strategy published in April 1996. Widespread support for the role from the then health authority, social services and voluntary organisations led to the commissioning of a successful project in 1997.
