Here are some of the main contacts for the areas relating to CSCI inspection of your training and development needs

CSCI    Commission for Social Care Inspectorate   www.csci.org.uk

This is the body that checks that registered services are meeting the National Minimum Standards.  In order to prepare for inspection you will need to complete your self assessment  AQAA Annual Quality Assurance Assessment.

The new inspection body, to be known as ‘Ofcare’, is expected to be in place in the autumn of next year and be fully operational by April 2009.

National Minimum Data Set   NMDS

This is a mechanism by which the government gathers accurate information about the H&SC workforce to help them plan for future development needs of the sector.  Funding from ACT is now dependent on having completed your NMDS return and Colin Rushforth can advise and help you with completing it. www.actforfunding.org

Mandatory Training

This is the training that has to be completed to meet legal requirements and includes things like First Aid, Manual Handling, Medication etc.  There is funding available for this through ACT  www.actforfunding.org
