Herefordshire Local Compact Consultation
Help us build the Joint Response from the Third Sector!
The consultation on the Local Compact is now underway and your input is needed.Herefordshire Third Sector Board (HTSB) is encouraging everyone to respond to the consultation survey. For the text of the draft Compact and the consultation survey see the link on page 2 below.

But we also need you to send your views directly to us so that we can prepare a collective response. A joint response from 3rd sector organisations will give added weight to our key messages and our influence over the final shape of the Compact will be stronger.
To do this we want you to do one or all of the following:
• Copy us into your response to the consultation survey by completing the same questions on the following link:

by 10th August. We know it means doing it twice but in this way we can gather views from the sector in time to put together a joint response.(see Notes below for more information)
• Come to a 3rd Sector meeting on 6th September at 3.30pm (Hereford City venue to be confirmed) to discuss the draft response from the HTSB and agree our key messages.
• Send us now a note about your experiences of how the Compact has (or has not) worked in the past – or send in any other comment that you want to make to us. We will make sure any quotes are anonymous: e-mail: cepheus@btinternet.com
The Local Compact affects all community and voluntary organisations in Herefordshire. It sets out the terms of the relationship between the public sector and 3rd sector organisations in the County and provides the framework for all future negotiations, including funding and procurement. It is important that we make sure the terms of the Compact are right. We can only do that if you get involved. So read the draft of the Local Compact and let us know what you think!

The Draft Compact contains
- an introductory section explaining what Compact is about
- four Codes (each quite short) covering the following subjects
- Funding & Procurement
- Volunteering
- Equalities
- Working Together and
- the Compact Resolution Procedure, this describes a mechanism for resolving disputes between parties

Our survey allocates a separate page for each section of the Draft Compact (the relevant section is listed at the top of the page together with the corresponding page number in the Draft). Please note that the same questions are asked about each individual Code.
Contributions will only be used anonymously so please feel free to send all your comments including any that you might be reluctant to include in a direct response to the official consultation.
Please complete this survey by August 10th so that we can prepare the draft joint response for further discussion at the meeting on 6th September.
