Green Funders

Remember the do and don’ts of writing funding applications click here
You will need to show that you have had an environmental audit and the right advice from appropriate suppliers in terms of what will produce significant energy savings for your building before submitting any application.

Check the websites of every funders you are thinking of approaching shortly before preparing and submitting the application to ensure you are up to date on their terms and conditions of funding

Warning about PV and Funding.

If your committee is thinking about or in the process of looking for funds to install PV panels on your building, please be aware of the following

"that in order to benefit from the FIT and external grant aid hall committees need to ensure the grant was made by 1st July 2011 and the system commissioned by 1st October 2011. Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE ) has raised this issue with Defra and DECC but their response has only been to reiterate the legislation and comment that “this would not be consistent with the policy intent and the concern to ensure value for money for consumers, bearing in mind that installations that receive both grants and FITs would be receiving a double benefit”

If you do get a grant to install a system it will thus probably only be of significant financial benefit if your building in heavy day time use and relies on electricity for its heating
