VCS Public Health Support Programme 2009/10
Aim:To develop the organizational stability, competence and capacity of Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organizations in Worcestershire so that they are equipped to deliver healthy lifestyles services which are fit for purpose (ie evidenced-based, best quality and personalised for service users).
Specific aims are to:
- Improve strategic and operational leadership of VCS organisations in relation to the Public Health agenda
- Enhance the quality of services delivered by the VCS, particularly in the area of healthy lifestyle choices
- Increase the capacity of the VCS to deliver these services
- Develop the understanding and engagement of the VCS in a changing and complex operating environment
- Raise the profile of the VCS in the delivery of a range of healthy lifestyle services
- Engage with the VCS and statutory health partners in developing effective working relationships
