Community Champions
Welcome to the Community Champions Fund (CCF). Unfortunately this funding programme has now come to an end.
Community Champions was set up by DfES (in collaboration with the Home Office from 2001 - 2004) to provide support for volunteers with small-scale ideas for projects that would benefit the community.
This scheme was keen to support individual volunteers who had missed out on the chances offered through 'mainstream' funding activity and who had little or no experience of post school education, training or employment. The fund had a very powerful role as a first step in helping individuals who felt they had missed out, to acheive things they never thought they could.
Community Champions has been successfully operating in Herefordshire and Worcestershire for at least 8 years and has created more than 100 community champions, who are and have inspired others to get more involved in renewing their neighbourhoods and participate in community groups.
Receiving a grant for the first time can be a daunting experience - quickly learning how to write a funding appllication, managing project delivery, recording evidence of expenditure and reporting progress. Many projects have been supported through the Community Champions fund: to find out who they are click the link below.
