Village Halls


We support people running - or hoping to run - every type of community building: village halls, parish halls, community centres and churches reaching out to a wider community.

The community buildings advisory service is operated by Rob Grunsell who is available to provide information, advice and support on the phone, via email, through written material and visits.
The aim is to cover every aspect of running and developing community facilities. If we don’t know the answer we will offer signposting to the people who do.

BIG steps to make flagship funding programme even better

At least £100 million a year is to be invested across England by the BIG Lottery Fund in a new improved version of its flagship Reaching Communities programme for each of the next five years.

Also in the pipeline for later in the year is a third element, a dedicated capital stream offering funding within the familiar Reaching Communities application process to respond to the high, unmet demand for funding for community buildings.

The changes are a response to the Fund’s major public BIG Thinking consultation last year. In addition, the Big Lottery Fund is promising more informative feedback on all unsuccessful applications

Community First's getwithit team have developed a system creating and managing a generic email account for your village hall. Simply redirect your mail to the most appropriate committee members.
