Can You Help to Improve Health Outcomes for Worcestershire?

Improving engagement, developing strategic Leadership and building a strong and influential voice for the voluntary and community sector in Worcestershire

The Worcestershire Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) are seeking a dynamic and strategic thinking individual with a passion and commitment to improving health and social care outcomes in the county to take up both a lead and a deputy voluntary and community sector (VCS) seat on the counties HWB.

Health and Wellbeing Boards are a key part of the Government’s reforms to the NHS and public health and social care systems. The HWB leads on strategic planning of NHS, public health, social care, and related children’s services and is a forum for public accountability of these services and of other policies and activities which influence the health and well-being of our communities. The HWB has been operating in ‘shadow form’ since May 2011 and the VCS has held a temporary seat on the Board during this period. From April 2012 the HWB will be moving to a more permanent arrangement and in line with this wishes to recruit someone from the VCS to take up this leading role on a more permanent basis. In addition they will also be looking to recruit someone who can deputise for this person in their absence.

Potential candidates should be active leaders of the VCS who understand health, social care and wellbeing policy issues and the challenges currently facing the NHS and Local Authorities and are familiar with how local services are shaped, commissioned and delivered.

Applications are open to anyone wishing to apply including those who have not previously have been involved in this context but meet the requirements of the role.
