Calor Village of the Year 2009
Community First in Herefordshire & Worcestershire is pleased to announce that the winner of the Calor Herefordshire & Worcestershire Village of the Year Competition 2009 is:
Hanley Swan
The judges felt that it was a very close competition this year, and Eye with Luston came highly commended as runner-up. Other entrants had made a marvellous effort with some wonderful ideas were encouraged to try again in the future. All the villages agreed that it had been fun and a worthwhile experience, highlighting just what a lot does go on almost unnoticed in so many of our villages, they agreed it was a great opportunity to showcase their village.
A celebration event with presentations of cash prizes, wall plaques and certificates will be held in Hanley Swan in September (date, times and venue tbc). Hanley Swan will now be eligible to enter the Calor National Competition for this region. Photos of the celebration event will be published in the autumn edition of Newsline.
