Assessment Process - Nexus
The assessment and decision making process is designed to be fair and transparent and we make sure that applicants receive a decision within 10 weeks of the deadline date.Once an application is received we follow this procedure
1. Basic eligibility check
The project assistant will ensure all the necessary questions are answered and the required supporting information attached. She may contact the applicant to obtain any missing items
2. Decision making
The decision making panel is an independent body made up of 10- 12 people who are experienced in working in the voluntary and public sectors and the three counties which form part of the Rural Regeneration Zone.
The panel meets at fixed times throughout the year and make decisions on how well the project meets the following criteria:
• Is the project a good idea
• How does the project address disadvantage or disengagement
• How does the project proposal meet the identified need
• Does the project have the capacity to deliver (skills and experience particularly in Project and Financial Management)
• Are the projects primary outputs realistic and achievable
• Does the project respond to the programmes outputs
• Are the projects secondary outputs achievable and realistic
• Is the projects budget realistic
• Is the project value for Money
• Does the project have at least 25% secured match funding
3. Appeals
All applicants are entitled to appeal against their decision and should contact Sophie Mead in the first instance for an appeals form.
