AGM: Let’s talk ‘Localism’

Tuesday 1st November 2011, 4.30-6.30pm, Clifton on Teme Village Hall

This year’s AGM forms the centrepiece of an event focusing on the Government’s Localism Bill, with guest speaker Sylvia Brown OBE, Chief Executive of ACRE talking about what that might mean for you and your community. Sylvia Brown works nationally with government and with partner organisations, to promote the role and expertise of rural communities, and highlight the challenges they face. Sylvia was awarded the OBE for services to rural communities in 2007. She is still a parish councillor in her own community in a village close to Swindon which has provided essential background experience for an ACRE Chief Executive. This is a pivotal time for local groups to engage with a national expert.

You’ll also get the opportunity to find out about the support, advice and services available from Community First to assist the growth and development of your group.

We will also be running workshops
